Ava

I have been spending my days working for Fiesta Photography shooting pre-school photos. It's the standard school portrait kind of stuff but today was special for me. One of the girls at the school had a mother who was part of the staff. I had already taken a photo of the little girl, Ava, and I also snapped a few of her with her mom and dad. At the end of the day, Ava was wanting a few more pictures. Obviously she was camera shy :). I decided to change things up a bit and took her outside for the last few frames. This is what I ended up with. What a ham! And such a cute girl too!

Artwork or Extremely Bored? You Decide

So as some of you may know, I have been very sick for over two weeks now. Working with all those kids has finally taken it's toll on me. Since I can't seem to maintain my normal schedule of work and then going to the gym due to sickness, I have become very bored.

Today I decided would be a great day to make an attempt at some artwork. It's been quite awhile since I made any sort of effort to create an image that wasn't portraiture. Okay, okay, some of it is portraiture but I can't help it. So here it is! Scratch your head in confusion or enjoy the show because I can't seem to make up my mind about this stuff.

First Attempt at a Family Portrait

I've been telling Jesse that I would love to take a picture of the two of us with the dogs right outside on our front porch. Today just happened to be as good a day as any to give it a shot. Geez! I think I need some practice with the self timer. It's not my best work but we'll try it again another time. Make sure to check out Jesse's red VAVI shirt. It's one of the many in his wardrobe! And note that I am not wearing any makeup! What a couple of goofballs we are!

Just Thought I'd Blog

A few weekends ago I took this picture and wanted to share it with all of you. It's not the most amazing or original work but I like it. So I hope you like it too. It's cute. I like the surfer off in the distance. I considered "photoshopping" him out but decided that it gave the image that So Cal feel.

Araceli

Today I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Araceli and her daughter. It was a unique maternity shoot because I had the chance to incorporate her daughter in several of the shots. We started at their house and headed down to Ocean Beach to finish up the shoot at Sunset Cliffs. It was so much fun for me and I wanted to keep shooting until the sun went down! So here's a little preview and if I'm lucky enough I'll get to meet this little girl when she finally makes it into the world. Enjoy!

Our Weekend in Solvang

Okay okay, I'm a little late with this blog but I've just been so busy. I haven't even had a chance to stop and think! So here are some pics from our weekend at the vineyards in Solvang... finally!

And just to let everyone know, I'm super busy with my new job. Taking pictures of kids is hard work! I'm so grateful to Kelly of Fiesta Photography for giving me the chance to work with her. It's a great new experience for me. And now I have a whole new appreciation for all those hard working parents out there.
