Is It Wrong?

I've been cleaning my makeup brushes by sticking them in the washing machine. For years I would try and handwash them with soap and water but they always wound feeling like I didn't get all the soap out of them. Inevitably, I would end up throwing them out and having to buy new. But recently I thought I'd throw them in the laundry. It worked! I let them air dry and they felt brand new. So the question is, am I weird for thinking of this or an absolute genius?

Ahhh... Marriage

I'm am so happy to announce that two of my closest friends recently got engaged. And the best part is that they have asked me to be in their wedding party. Of all the weddings I've seen and photographed, I have never actually been in one. I can't wait to experience the fun that goes along with being part of my friends' big day. Congratulations Gregg and Shira! I can't wait for the fun times to come.

The Beach

A few weekends ago I convinced Jesse to come with me and the dogs to the beach in Coronado. Jesse is not a huge fan of the beach. I don't think he realizes how lucky he is to have grown up so close to the ocean but every now and then he comes to the beach with us. The dogs love it so it's not hard to convince them to get out of the car. They're usually clammering to jump out before we even park the car.

I love seeing the dogs run like crazy all over the place. There are very few things in life that give me complete and utter joy. Seeing my two furry loves running and jumping into the water makes me smile uncontrollably. My dogs remind me why it is so wonderful and why I am so blessed to live in this beautiful city.

Gorgeous Salon

Five and a half years ago I moved to San Diego to change my life. Part of that change involved even the smallest things like finding a new salon to get my hair cut. I bounced around to a few places that were recommended to me but nothing ever stuck. I eventually moved to North Park and noticed one day while driving around, a cute little pink sign reading, "Voted Best Salon in North Park". I thought, I'll give it a try. The bonus was it was right up the street from my apartment. I came as a walk in and immediately met Cindy, the owner. Long story short, I've been going there ever since.

I've seen all the changes the salon has undergone and I'm so happy that Cindy and her salon is thriving. Gorgeous Salon is my "Cheers". It also was a joy to spend soooo much time at the salon in preparation for my wedding. I indulged in everything those ladies had to offer. One of those things was facials and makeup. That's where Margaret comes in. Spending all that time at the salon gave me the chance to get to know this sweet natured esthetician. So naturally, I refer her any chance I get.

I'm sure you remember Jen from my last post. Jen took the time to see Margaret for a makeup trial session in preparation for her wedding. So I asked Margaret if it would be okay if I came by and took a few pics of her in action. So here she is, Margaret.
